Nursing Team

Our nursing team holds daily clinics at Burvill House. They are happy to help you with immunisations, cervical cytology and contraception and monitoring of conditions such as high blood pressure, asthma and diabetes. They also provide wound care, smoking cessation and other lifestyle advice. The nurses give travel vaccinations and advice and other services. Some of the nurses are able to prescribe in their areas of expertise. The receptionists can advise you which team member to book with.

Practice Staff

Management

Our practice manager and deputy practice manager take care of the organisation and administration of the practice. If you have any helpful ideas or suggestions concerning the running of the practice, they will be delighted to receive them. You should also speak/write to them if you feel unhappy about the attention you receive- we strive to achieve the best possible care for our patients and it helps us to learn from your experiences.

Social Prescribers
Social prescribing involves helping patients to improve their health, wellbeing and social welfare by connecting them to community services. Recognising that people’s health and wellbeing are determined mostly by a range of social, economic and environmental factors, social prescribing seeks to address people’s needs in a holistic way. It also aims to support individuals to take greater control of their own health. Patients who could benefit from social prescribing include people with mild or long-term mental health problems, people with complex needs, people who are socially isolated and those with multiple long-term conditions who frequently attend either primary or secondary health care. Speak to your GP about the referral.
