GP Data for Planning and Research Update

Concerned about your information being shared? What you need to know.

The NHS is planning to introduce an improved way for GP practices to share information about patients- called the General Practice Data for Planning and Research data collection.  News of these plans has caused some concern to some of our patients, who have decided that they don’t want their data to be involved.

We have now been informed that no data will be shared in this new way until 1 September this year.  If you have already been in touch with the practice to ask to be ‘opted out’, your request will be honoured.  This will not affect your own care. To find out more about how and why the NHS securely collects and uses data, please go to this website.

Due to the covid pandemic and our work on the vaccine campaign we are extremely busy. Please be patient with us as calls may take longer to answer and routine appointments are limited. Urgent medical problems will be prioritised.

If you have concerns about coronavirus please access this link https://www.gov.uk/coronavirus for the most up to date information. You can also call go online to seek advice https://111.nhs.uk/ If you do not have online access please call 119.

If your call is life threatening please call 999.

If you do not need an appointment and for non-urgent calls please call after 11am.

If you are over 70 and have not yet had the COVID vaccination please call the surgery to book your appointment.

If you are a front-line nhs or social care worker and need a covid vaccine please submit an e-consultation to the surgery (use the get started link below under eConsult), we will then contact you.

Our Staff cannot accept prescription requests over the telephone. If you need medication urgently please speak to your pharmacy. Medication requests can be submitted online or by posting a paper request into the locked box outside the surgery building.
